Waldo - I'm glad that you apparently felt comfortable enough to share the details of life "coming at you fast" this week but it really wasn't necessary. All you had to say was, "family concerns are making me goofy" and I think we'd all relate.

In my opinion, you do an exemplary job of responding to your numerous comments. This is why I was surprised that you didn't address the suggestion of jail time by Mark Brooks, especially given his position of leadership in the Democratic party.

I haven't mentioned the issue of missing trackbacks because I don't have the facts and don't care to speculate.

We must read some of the same blogs or I wouldn't have noticed the pattern of wrist slaps . . .

Now go take care of your family - without them, nothing else matters.

Uh, Waldo:
How about you gleefully posting the vandalism of Rep. Goode's office in a post on your blog?

Waldo says:
"I have been polite, forthright, and honest in every assessment that I’ve made of Rep. Goode and his legal situations, documenting every assertion and engaging in open discussion with those who disagree with me."

Your only complaint of the vandal was that it was a shame he didn't match the font up correctly... Yeah, I think you honestly meant to convey to your readers Goode is a 'bigot'...

Oh, and speaking of engaging in open discussion with those who disagree with me, I got a big fat post, full of your little ditties, just awaiting your attention over at STD...

Personally, had someone left such a comment on my site, one calling for jail time for a person not even charged much less convicted, I would feel the need to rebuke that notion.

My grandmother has been in the hospital with pneumonia and heart failure for six days now -- I visit her daily. My sister-in-law (and neighbor) went into early labor on Friday, and I'm the first responder for child care for my niece. And my aunt and cousin are coming to visit on Friday because they fear that my grandmother won't live much longer.

So having to deal with nonsense like people whining about some trackback being delayed by an hour is deeply, deeply stupid. And being accused of supporting somebody's view because I've failed to rebut it is beyond ridiculous. 13,003 comments have been posted on my blog. Some I agree with, some I don't.

Y'all can fight over the importance of some damned trackback all you want. I'll be looking after family, which comes first for me. It's a shame that some folks have different priorities.

I've never seen you leave positive or complimentary comments on the sites of other bloggers.

I do so routinely though, more often, I will link to their blog entry from my own blog, as that's often even more useful to the blogger. I suspect that you and I just read different blogs.

Just to be clear: No, I'm not. I'm simply directing people who want to read speculation as well as calls for Virgil to be jailed to your blogs and comments. None of us are responsible for the posts of others, you know that. Mark Brooks left the following comment on your site:

The restitutions you speak of; certainly you don’t think that there are only two people anywhere who would have had this idea. Myself, I would rather see a jail sentence for Mister Goode; failing that for the time being, restitution to Martinsville sounds like the honorable thing to do. Mark Brooks 02/04/2007 8:10 pm #14060
SOOOO . . as I said, IF people want to read drivel such as this, they can find it at your site, not in the Bulletin article. NOW they can read it here.

Personally, had someone left such a comment on my site, one calling for jail time for a person not even charged much less convicted, I would feel the need to rebuke that notion. But we can't all be me, now can we?

Something else I've noticed about you, Waldo. I've never seen you leave positive or complimentary comments on the sites of other bloggers. I'm not saying that you haven't left them, just that I haven't seen them. You do, however, tend to comment when you apparently see the need for a "wrist slap."

Waldo,
Please do show me where you have backed any of your allegations with fact. Your assertions are long on assertions and short on fact.
