I really don't believe that you "really hoped" any such thing, Badrose. You and idiots like Alton make grand pronouncements about the state of the world while having little to no actual experience with it. I'd like to pretty much leave you alone, condemned to your own world of ignorance, but here you are, spouting off as if you know the first thing.

If you actually gave a shit about the things you claim to, you'd bother learning more about the world.

J - excellent post. I agree with your figure of 10% being more accurate but I used 1% to prove the point that EVEN 1% means 10,000,000.
I'm supposed to fear 10,000,000 microbes living in my mattress but not 10,000,000 people who have sworn to kill me for being an infidel? I'm not THAT blonde!

MB: No, the truth is not insulting; I the hell mentioned (rather inferred) global warming in my post above, as being less of a threat than radical Muslims.
I really hoped you would provide some facts to support your position but I see that you are apparently more interested in making false accusations and painting extreme scenarios.
Here's our common ground: 1) We AGREE that there are people out there who would like to hurt and kill other people.
2) We AGREE that unfettered immigration would be a mess for the world.
Taking it a step further, having a loosely monitored and enforced immigration policy (one including minimum quotas) can be a mess for US.
Those are your first two dots. Check back here if you need help connecting them.

Nope, MB. I never said the earth is flat. Quite the opposite actually. Nice try at obfuscation, but it seems it is you who is denying the obvious.

I have learned a thing or three about Big Scary Islam. Perhaps you could open your enlightened mind for a moment and let me fill you in.

1)A recent Gallup Poll, based on interviews with 9,000 Muslims in 9 countries revealed some interesting facts; For example, I bet you think that the few radical islamists who do exist are poor, uneducated, and full of hopelessness and hate, right? Well, that would be wrong, but don't feel bad MB, that's what most people believe as well.

The Poll I just mentioned showed a statistically insignificant difference in the religiosity between moderate and radical Muslims. They also found that overall, radicals were better educated, had higher incomes, considered their future to be brighter, and had a higher self-esteem. In other words, just the type you would welcome in an immigration policy, right?

Ah ha, you say. It's our way of life that the radicals abhor then. Nope, again you would be wrong. the responses were equal on the questions of "what do you most admire about the west?". Both groups answers were statistically equal, with the top two values being western technology and liberty/democracy/freedom of speech.

How does one recognize a radical Islamist? One doesn't, until it's too late. How does a country safely decide on an immigration policy under these circumstances?

2)I'm sure i don't have to take you by the hand and show you the hundreds of references to total world domination espoused by radical islamists, do I? I didn't think so.

3)Are you comfortable with the tenet espoused by Muslims, and not just "radical" Muslims, that state something along these lines; Muslims are forbidden from obliging a non-Muslim to embrace Islam, but he should pay the tribute (a tax, called Jizyah) to Muslims readily and submissively, surrender to Islamic laws, and should not practice his polytheistic rituals openly.

4)I could go on, but this has turned into a rather lengthy piece for a comment section.

Thank you Badrose for allowing me to use your soapbox, (not to mention you kitchen counter and wireless).
