Ferrum College

Wherever you go in this world, you’re bound to meet at least one person with ties to Ferrum College.

That’s all I remember the admissions guy saying the day I went to look at the little school nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge. Not only have I carried his words with me all these many years later, I’ve also carried some of my most cherished friendships - those formed at Ferrum.

Today, we all wait for the next update - hoping the rumors and early fears of a gunman on campus are unfounded. And remember, with only the fondest of memories, the special time in our lives she gave us.

Now, which, oh which, might you be?
Judging from the picture, I don’t think you’ve aged, but you certainly have gotten rid of the 80s hairdo.

I’m a 98 alum. Ferrum holds great memories for me. I still head up to Bowlings for hot dogs every couple of months and the folk life festival every year. Did you ever know Butch Jones? I think he was there during that time (late 80’s) and was my inspiration for going to Ferrum. He passed away a few years ago, but is a Ferrum friend i’ll always remember.

Actually, this picture was taken a “few” years after we left Ferrum. I think it was Alumni weekend and we all went to a football game.

98 GRAD - you remind me of a friend (named Baxter) who used to buy a bunch of Bowlings hotdogs and take them back to his freezer in Virginia Beach! Butch Jones sounds familiar…

Mike’s pain - you have to remember, I’m old enough to be your….um, big sister! :)

Ah, you shouldn’t be letting them in on how young we are. Also, given that one of those girls I like claims to be like a little sister to me, I don’t know if you’d want to keep that comparison!
