Sunday Morning Will Never Be The Same

When Elvis died, my mother went into mourning.  I didn’t understand how she could feel so sad about “losing” someone she never had.  She’d never met him, never even went to a concert, yet she grieved daily for more than a week.

I understand it now.

Godspeed.

Tim Russert was an American icon. Every Sunday morning, I would watch “Meet The Press” to listen to Russert’s interviews. He was a great journalist and an inspiration. He will be missed and my prayers are with his family.

You are SOOO very right.. AND it appeared that he never let his success go to his head. He never came across as an elitist windbag that shall not be named! :)

Every Sunday at 9:00 it was MTP. Then at 10:00 Alton would call and we would discuss the show. Worshiping at the House of Russert was our Sunday tradition.

I’ve loved hearing so many funny, heart-warming stories about those three wonderful Russert men. We can only imagine what the world would be like if there were more like them.

I am still devestated that Tim is gone. Who else will hold not only politicians responsible but the press as well to ensure that they cover the campaign and ask the tough questions.

Sigh.

Tim was the heart and soul of politics. He was good at what he did. he was respected by all he interviewed and the got the job done. Political interviews will not be the same.
