Happy 43rd Birthday, Kilo!!

Filed under: family, ODBA — Badrose at 12:43 am on Tuesday, January 22, 2008

43 years ago today, a baby boy was born in a Chicago area hospital. It was a very tough beginning for this child. Born addicted to drugs to a Mother who could not properly care for him and soon decided that she could not keep him.

43 years ago a child was born and God knew him and loved him and watched over him and protected him until he was delivered into a proper home and loving family. He was raised up by God fearing parents who believed in tough love and stood beside him, and prayed for him and showed him unconditional love. No matter where this child went, he always knew that God was with him, that his parents were praying for him and that he had a home.  (Reprinted without permission but with only the best intentions….)

Happy Birthday, my much beloved Kilo.  May you have many, many more….each more spectacular than the last!

At 2:15, it was sunny and dry, 55 degrees with a cold, sharp wind.  I was voter number 406 out of 1,364 registered voters.  Remind me to get a life so I’ll stop tracking the weather on election days….

DECENCY Matters?? Since when??

Filed under: Henry County, Things that make me say, "hmmmmm . . ", Roscoe Reynolds — Badrose at 9:48 am on Tuesday, November 6, 2007

Does Joe Stanley have anyone in his family that he won’t prostitute? Decency?

decency |ˈdēsənsē| noun ( pl. -cies) behavior that conforms to accepted standards of morality or respectability : she had the decency to come and confess. • modesty and propriety : a loose dress, rather too low-cut for decency. • ( decencies) the requirements of accepted or respectable behavior : an appeal to common decencies. ~ From MacDictionary ~

Freddie Stanley, father of Joe Stanley, the website designer for Roscoe Reynolds as well as being a NAMBLA publicist paid for this “ad” to be published in yesterday’s Franklin News-Post:

decencymatters.jpg

“I have fought every urge to respond, but the truth must be told.” Please. Mr. Stanley should’ve fought a little bit harder. He (more likely Joe) wants us to believe that his family members have been “attacked” so he responds by defending them with a paid newspaper ad? Who, specifically, attacked his seven-year old granddaughter? Did he report it to law enforcement? Why not? By protecting them, is he not as guilty as the “attacker?”

In my opinion, Mr. Stanley’s time and money would’ve been better spent had he privately lectured his son on the matter of decency. To place an ad in the local paper on the day before the election says more about their collective definition of decency (or lack thereof) than MacDictionary can provide…

Martinsville to Lose ANOTHER 250 Jobs.

Filed under: economic dev, Martinsville, Henry County — Badrose at 5:57 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2007

“About” 250 more jobs will go “poof” in the next two to four months as Stanley Furniture undergoes more restructuring.  Despite this latest disappointment, we ARE still open for business.  We have properties available in both HUB and Enterprise Zones, a low cost of living and very affordable housing.

The quality of life here is excellent, especially if you’re sick of traffic and urban sprawl.

Come see for yourself!
